Light duty dock leveler
Light duty dock levelers are able to handle loads from 25,000 – 40,000 pounds (Dynamic load-weight). A small forklifts or order pickers are used to load and unload lighter cargo with these types of levelers. Light duty dock levelers can be mechanically hydraulically, or air operated.
Heavy duty dock leveler
Heavy duty dock leveler have load capacities ranging from 50,000 – 80,000 pounds and can be customized to suit larger capacities if required.These types of dock levelers are mainly operated hydraulically due to their weight.
Basic types of levelers
Edge of Dock levelers: These get installed on the edge of the concrete floor, at the door opening (no pit required). Good for lighter applications, with similar truck’ bed heights (within a couple of inches). This solution is very inexpensive but with limited flexibility.
Pit levelers: Great for applications with a wide variety of truck bed heights and heavier load capacities, etc. Dock levelers can be manufactured to suit existing pit sizes, as well as customized to suit various driveway grades and building projections, etc.
